Information Technology

Information Technology encompasses many things at SPCS, but our primary function is to provide state-of-the-art technology and systems that enhance teaching and learning in our schools.

Our Technology-Rich Environment

  • We maintain a fast and reliable fiber optic wide area network (WAN) accessible via high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity in our schools.
  • We provide our staff and students with state-of-the-art technology to enhance teaching and to engage students in learning while developing valuable 21st-century skills.
  • We support our staff and students when they encounter difficulties with technology, have a problem to solve, or have a project they need help completing.
  • We coach our staff and students on the responsible, productive, and efficient use of technology to accomplish daily tasks and complete assigned work.

    Our Primary Technology Partners

    Apple Computer has been our primary supplier of desktop, laptop, and tablet devices used by staff and students since the inception of our 1:1 program in 2012.

    Google provides our staff and students with useful online tools via Google Workspace including email, cloud storage, productivity apps, and more.

    Mosyle is a leading provider of mobile device management solutions for K-12 education. Their onek12 system allows us to efficiently and effectively manage our entire fleet of over 2,000 Apple devices including iMacs, MacBooks, Mac Minis, iPads,and Apple TVs.

    PrimeSecured, based in Elkhorn, Nebraska, is a local technology company that supports our HP/Aruba data network, Avaya IP phone system, and Genetec physical security system.

    Unite Private Networks provides fiber optic connectivity between our buildings and the Internet.

    Capital Business Systems provides Canon printing systems and support for all our buildings along with a print management solution through PaperCut.

    KCAV is our audio/visual systems solutions provider and hardware reseller of large format displays, sound systems, and interactive touch displays.

    Educational Service Unit #3 in Omaha assists us with technical support on several fronts.

    Core Systems

    The following major core systems are in place to support our district’s mission:

    PowerSchool is an industry leader in student information systems (SIS) used by school districts to collect, manage, and report student and staff data.

    Schoology is a comprehensive learning management system (LMS) used by staff, students, and parents to enhance teaching and learning in our district.

    SchoolMessenger is our school notification system used to distribute pertinent information and alerts to our entire school community.

    ClassLink is the leading Identity and Access Management (IAM) solution for K-12 Education. We implemented ClassLink tools to provide easier and more secure access to curriculum and other systems used in our district on a daily basis.

    Mimio/Boxlight provides hardware and software solutions including their large format interactive touch displays installed in every classroom in our district.
