Information Technology

Information Technology encompasses many things at SPCS, but our primary function is to provide state-of-the-art technology and systems that enhance teaching and learning in our schools.

Technology-Rich Environment

We support a technology-rich learning environment by:

  • Maintaining a fast and reliable fiber-optic network accessible through high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity in our schools
  • Supplying staff and students with state-of-the-art tech devices that enhance teaching and encourage the development of 21st-century skills as students engage in learning
  • Supporting our students and staff when they encounter difficulties with technology, have a problem to solve, or have a project they need help completing
  • Instructing our students and staff on the responsible, productive, and efficient use of technology

Quality Tech Partners

We partner with these industry leaders to support our technology ecosystem:

Apple Computer has been our primary supplier of desktop, laptop, and tablet devices used by staff and students since the inception of our 1:1 program in 2012.

Google provides our staff and students with free access to email, cloud storage, productivity apps, and more through Google Workspace (formerly G Suite).

Jamf Software is the foremost provider of mobile device management solutions for the iPadOS and macOS platforms. Their Jamf | PRO system allows us to efficiently manage our fleet of over 1,500 iMac, MacBook, and iPad devices.

ContentKeeper appliances installed in our computers help ensure safe web browsing. ContentKeeper’s robust and comprehensive content filtering system follows our students wherever they take their devices.

Prime Communications, based in Elkhorn, Nebraska, is our local networking partner providing us with outstanding technology from HP, Aruba, Palo Alto, and Avaya.

Educational Service Unit #3 in Omaha assists us with technical support on several fronts.

Core Systems

The following major core systems are in place to support our district’s mission:
