Technology Services encompasses many things in our school district, but our primary function is to provide a state-of-the-art technology environment that enhances teaching and learning in our schools.
Creating a Technology-Rich Environment
We create a technology-rich learning environment by:
- Maintaining a fast and reliable wireless network while providing safe access to the Internet for students
- Supplying computing devices that enhance teaching and encourage the development of 21st-century skills as students engage in learning
- Providing timely support to our students and staff when they encounter difficulties with technology, have a problem to solve, or have a project they need help completing
- Instructing our students and staff on the productive and efficient use of technology
Our Technology Services team partners with industry leaders to provide our students and staff the latest in technology.
Apple is our primary supplier of desktop, laptop, and tablet devices used by staff and students. We still have some Windows/PC computers around, but 95% of our computing devices run on Apple OS and iOS platforms.
Google Suite for Education provides, free of charge, student email, cloud storage, productivity apps, and more. All staff and students have a school district Google account, and students in grades 3–12 have access to email.
Jamf is the foremost provider of mobile device management solutions in the Apple OS and iOS arena. Their system helps us efficiently manage over 1,000 iMac, MacBook, and iPad devices.
ContentKeeper helps us provide a safe browsing environment for students in our district. ContentKeeper protects against harmful web content and emerging security threats. ContentKeeper helps proactively protect school networks and mobile students anywhere, anytime.
Schoology is our learning management system provider.
Educational Service Unit #3 assists us with network engineering support, repair services, training, and more.
